If you have a Wii Remote that was synced and working, but now only the LED lights flash and then go off, try the following:
Turn the Wii console on and wait until the "Health & Safety" screen appears (don't press A).
Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up, and open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console.
Press the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.
When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).
This procedure must be followed for each additional Wii Remote added to the system.
If the steps above do not work, remove the batteries of the Wii Remote and leave them out for at least 2 or 3 minutes. Reinsert the batteries and sync the Wii Remote again. Test for proper response.
If still no response, try calling 1-800-255-3700

I've had some real problems with the wii remote also. I tried to re-sync it, and it worked, and if that doesn't work, I would change the batteries. They might be out, because they do that a lot. If NOTHING works, the last thing I'd do is to take the remote to a repair company or buy a new one...It's up to you.

you gotta resync it...when the leds blink for 20 seconds it means its not synced to the wii...it may take a while but i suggest hitting the wiimote button and then the wii button and it should work...try holding down each button for 5 seconds which also helps because it gives you more time to sync

The problem might be that the sensor might turn you off or read the instruction manual or go on nintendo's website.
