i wear some mascara, but i dont wear eyeliner. my mom said i can wear it when i am ready, but i am not sure if i am! when is an appropriate age to wear eyeliner. i dont want to look old and be so young by wearing so much.

Well i think if you have small eyes that you should just stick with mascara for now cause it looks sorta weird. But i knwo your eye size and i think it already looks pretty with mascara but if you wanna try it maybe wear it going to church or something special like that!!!

I started wearing eyeliner when I was 13, but only my bottom lid. That way your eyes look defined an pretty but without looking like you were playing with your mom's makeup. When I turned 14, I started wearing it with mascara and liquid eyeliner on the top but VERY thin.
I think that maybe you should try a dark brown or bronze-ish color of eyeliner so that you don't over do it. You should also try brownish-black mascara when you wear them together.
But remember that the best way to decide what looks good for you and what isn't and what works for you and what doesn't is to PRACTICE. Practice makes perfect!
Try to experiment with different shades and styles to find which is the best for your complexion ,etc...
And if you are feeling bold you could also try eyeshadow once in a while.

When I wear eyeliner, people think I'm 30. When I don't, they think I'm 21. Skip the eyeliner. Most people don't know how to use it well. Lipgloss and mascara is a great look for any age. If you really want more on your eyes, just ask her if you can try a little eyeshadow.

I'm only 13, and I wear eyeliner. It seemed like a lot of girls were wearing eyeliner already, so I started wearing it too. Not only that, but it made my eyes look a whole lot more defined and pretty. If you start using it, make sure you apply it right and that you don't put on too much. Hope that helps!
P.S.- I line under my eye only. And for a natural, young look, stick to a little bit of concealer (if needed), blush, eyeliner, mascara, and clear lip gloss. Nix the eyeshadow and anything else.

It really depend if YOU are ready! Do other girls in your grade wear makeup? Eyeliner does change your look a little, so don't wear such a deep, dark color. Wear a light blue or another light color. Never wear dark when you are too young, or have really light skin and hair. I'm sure you will look great. If people bother you about it, just know it is apparent and maybe you want to change the colors a little.

Not everybody looks good in eyeliner! It sometimes makes you look like you don't know how to put on mascara or you are really tired. I don't wear eyeliner because i look more natural without it so you have to decide if you want to wear it!

I have been wearing eyeliner since I was twelve. I always did it thin so it would look natural. I have always loved makeup and since I started early I got lots of practice. I can apply liquid eyeliner while driving my car. But I think as long as the rest of your face is subtle then it will look natural.

If you don't feel ready to wear it, don't worry! As for age -- there's no right age to when you should start wearing it, its when YOU feel right with it. Also if and when you choose to wear more make up, start with a lighter colour (light taupe is always a good start and can be worn with practically any colour of clothing) until YOU feel more comfortable wearing anything else.
And if you want to try more make up suggest to your mom that she take you to a make up store/department and ask for a mini make over (you could always go together. They can explain to you the basics of make up and give you a few tips too!

i dont think you ever have to wear eyeliner. mascara looks good by itself. eyeliner makes your eyes look heavy and makes them look better rather than worse. for some people it works though, so try putting it on in front of your mirror on the weekend and wash it off. if it looks good, put it off until you really think youre comfortable wearing it. if it doesnt look right, throw it out and rid yourself of the temptation.
