Given: C is the midpt of BD
E is the mdpt of BF
DF = 12
angle D = 80* angle B = 60 * {* means degrees}

Let's do the easy part first. If angle B is 60 and D is 80, then angle F must be 40. Since BC is half of BD and BE is half of BF, then triangle CBE is similar to DBF using the side-angle-side relationship, so you know that angle BCE is the same measure as D and BEC is the same measure as F. Finally, since the two triangles are similar, the relationship between DF and CE must be the same as the relationship between BC and BD or 1/2. So CE = 6.

BCE and BDF are similar triangles (SAS: BD/BC = BF/BE, angle B is the same), so since BC is half BD, CE will be half DF, or CE = 6.
Again, similar triangles, so the corresponding angles BCE and BDF will be equal (80*)
BCE is a triangle, so given two angles of 80* and 60*, the third angle will be 180 - 80 - 60 = 40

CE//DF
CE=DF/2
=12/2=6
BCE=BDF=80 corresponding angles are equal
DFB=180-(80+60)
=40
BEC=DFB=40

D(2, 0) and E(-a million, 0) are on the x-axis, hence base of the triangle = 3, the factor F(2, -7). the the altitude of the triangle is = 7 portion of the triangle = (a million/2)(base)(altitude) = (a million/2)(3)(7) = 10.5. answer
