I remember continuously buying 007 games thinking that they were going to be as good as Goldeneye for the 64. So I would have to say that the decision to let EA make 007 games instead of Rareware would be the most disappointing, feeling that sticking with the better company would have led them to evolve the game franchise to be a suitable competitor with Halo, Unreal, etc......
Runner up would be the NFL only letting EA Sports do football, when 2kSports and Visual Concepts do a way better job.

Star Trek Legacy has been my biggest disappointment of all of my games. It has not delivered a game worth the money I paid for it.
There was a great deal of hype surrounding this game all of last summer. It has not lived up to most of it.
The multiple player game is so weak, it's nearly impossible to connect with other players on-line. And that was the main reason I wanted it, to play against other humans.
The interface doesn't show what games are really available to join. A game appears to be open to join and then it winds up being full without any warning. The same type of error messages keep showing up when I try and connect.
There are multiple glitches in the graphics that make this game a joke to look at. Like where there are ship parts blown off of the ships at the same time they are still attached and in place where they should be even though they are floating away in space.
They dropped several features before the release, like being able to assimilate other players by the Borg. They only have 4 different races instead of 6 or more.
You can't dock with Deep Space 9....WTF?
Also the controls on the PC version have a huge learning curve. They just don't feel natural. And there is no key re-mapping available. That is just unheard of in a PC game.
It's almost as if they took the xbox version and threw together the PC version as an after thought from it. In fact most PC players say they have better results using an xbox controller with the game than using the keyboard and mouse.
I'm not going out to buy an xbox controller just to play this game.
The game does have potential but not in it's present form.
There has been no word from the developer, Bethesda Softworks, regarding a patch or even having them address any problems that keep showing up on the game's forums.
This was the game that was supposed to revive the Star Trek gaming community. Instead it may wind up killing it.

I would definitely have to say Zelda the windwaker. It is a huge change from the amazing ocarina of time for the 64. It was way too cartoonish, and the story was a little childish as well as the graphix. I also think majoras mask was a lot worse than ocarina of time. i really hope they make a Zelda to make up for those two disappointments.
Also maybe having capcom make resident evil, though they fixed the jitters of the first few, they still could have used a better company.

Oblivion for Xbox 360, now don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the game and it is very fun. Thing is, I have Morrowwind and played that beginning to end, well, after playing Morrowwind, I just can't get all that much into Oblivion as I did the other. They amde Oblivion obviously for people who never got into the Elder Scrolls games before in previous entries. Still fun. But I am disappointed in it after playing Morrowwind.
