TRUST FUND?? I'm sorry didn't you just say all of these people were collecting welfare???
I don't even think you can get a welfare check for more than a certain amount of time... so that kind of destroys your entire theory that they want to be poor... and the only reason you probably thought that was because you thought they would be able to continue to draw welfare.
College educations these days cost a fortune and don't mean anything aside from the statement that you had enough cash and the minimal amount of brains to make it through... Some of this crap that passes for college education was taught to us in third grade. So suddenly some guy with 6 hours lab experience is qualified to work in a real world situation...?? Nope.

There are many reasons people collect welfare. Many are dependant children. No, they don't have monetary trust funds, but many areas have mentor programs to help them by showing them how to study, giving them field trips to libraries and museums, and instilling a sense of self-worth.
Some people have debilitating diseases, and cannot work, have been injured and cannot work, or are otherwise disabled. My neighbor who went blind and cannot continue his work as a naturalist has been despondant because of his disability; in cases of severe depression it is difficult to get up the energy to try and go back to school or to start a new job.
When one is born into poverty, many issues must be addressed, including the ability to get the needed education and to get the money needed to start up a company. A person can have an excellent business plan, but sadly a bank may turn them down because they don't have a proven track record handling money--how could they? They've never had money to handle! There are seed money grants to be had, but one must be aware of them, and many people don't even know how to begin to find them.
As to anyone "wanting" to be poor--probably this is incorrect, given the materialistic nature of our society. In fact, the lure of "easy money" is what causes many poor people to go into dealing drugs--they don't want to be poor. One way to keep them out of the death trap of meth and crack is to use some of the solutions described above.

All what people?
U.S. Government THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS A FACT !!!
Most welfare recipients are non-black, adult and on welfare less than two years at a time.
THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS A MYTH:
People on welfare are usually black, teenage mothers who stay on ten years at a time.
Summary
According to the statistics, whites form the largest racial group on welfare; half of all welfare recipients leave in the first two years; and teenagers form less than 8 percent of all welfare mothers.
1. Overview of Entitlement Programs, Committee on Ways and Means, U.S. House of Representatives (U.S. Government Printing Office, 2004).
Few on welfare have a 'trust'...Black or white - .some go to college and some wind up with good jobs. Don't be silly. Call your congressmen or senator and get the real facts.

trust fund? lol. My parents didn't even take me to the MD growing up (unless I was deathly sick) because they didn't have the money..and they were suppose to leave me a trust fund? Most people who have trust funds are not on welfare. Some people are born into poverty and can't just snap their fingers and have money. I have been in college but I worked myself to death to get there..God knows we don't get enough financial aid to do it on. Here's an idea..stop judging people. We are not all lazy.. some of us are on disability, some of us are elderly or sick..some of us can't make enough working full time to buy food, medical insurance, housing.. BE THANKFUL u don't have to worry about where your next meal is coming from

Some of THOSE people didn't have trust funds, got good educations, kept active and healthy only to have debilitating heart attacks at 39 due to genetics. Maybe that's why.

Maby they never had anyone in there lives to get them started on the right road, to show them or teach them anything of value, maby they have had hardships that are to difficult to overcome, no one wants to be on the bottom of the pile, be grateful for where you are , dont be so judgmental, life could take a turn for anybody, and you could end up there yourself.

You are judging their lives from your perspective. Nobody wants to be poor but sometimes if that is the only life you have ever had you internalize the feelings of being less than and begin to incorporate this belief system into your life so that you are unable to succeed.
