Usually my music updates whenever i plug my ipod in. Now it says "no ipod connected" but it IS connected and it is charging. I tried unplugging it and turning off the ipod then turning it on and plugging it in again but that didnt work. please help.

Try using a different USB port on your computer, which is where it's plugged into the computer. Also, blow dust out of the connection spots on the iPod, cord, and computer. Also use Apple Software Updater (should have it if you have iTunes 7 (blue icon)); if you don't have it then get it on Apple's site and this should try to connect to your iPod to give it updated software to make it put on songs more efficiently.
