Anne Rice's The Witching Hour. The main character is a witch, who also happens to be a surgeon. She uses her powers to heal people as she is doing surgery. Plus, she lives in this scary haunted house in New Orleans..... It's the best book ever.

"Dear John" by Nicholas Sparks because it's about recent events such as 9/11/01 and the U.S. invasion of Iraq. The love story is overpowering and all the more inspiring. You learn a lot about the U.S. military in this novel. Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors; his books have always been lots of fun to read. I recommend "Dear John" to anyone in the military or anyone who knows someone serving overseas. It's a true page-turner no one can forget.

"The Great Gatsby," by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

It is a great book about the 1920s, the rich, the poor, and more. The author managed to get so much information onto so few pages, I find it amazing.
