I am almost 17 and half and wud like to get the driver's license but i don't want to go to the driver's ed. Can I take the test now or do I have to be exactly 18 in order to take the test (both for permit and license)

you only have to be 16 to get your license and permit.

Call the DMV and ask them, but I think you have to be 18 to get a permit and drivers license without training.

my kid got her permit at 15 1/2. I think there is a requirement to
take some form of driver education. Is that waived when you turn 18. I know not. However you will be paying high insurance rates until you have been driving for 10 years. Get it over with.

Check the dmv website.

i think is 16 yrs old with parents signature,but they may have pumped it up to 18
