How about the symbolism of Three Strikes Legislation? Im in a crim class as well and we've been looking into how laws were in place that allowed repeat criminals to be charged tougher punishments before the wave of new "Three Strikes, You're Out" Laws were passed back in the '80's. Its pretty interesting, but theres lots of info out there. Its pretty basic stuff as well.

Criminogenic needs...Look online for "What Works" or "evidence based practices". There is a tool used called the LSI-R that is used by many states to determine criminogenic needs. There are many factors contributing to criminology. Lack of education, addiction, poverty, high crime nieghborhoods, family history of crime or addiction, mental illness, the younger someone is when they first commit a crime the higher risk they are to re offend. I work in the criminal justice field. I have found that lower education, addiction and poor work history really contribute to criminology. Also mental illness. Unfortunately many of our country's mentally ill go untreated, and resort to crime to either self medicate or for survivial.

the easiest thing to find information on dealing with criminology would eithers be serial killers/pyschos or a less harsh, pedophilia. both would make for an interesting paper.
good luck.

I'm a foster parent, Ive always wondered what the odds are for a child who has been abused by another child in the foster system and if the foster system could be held responsible for the child's abuse. I hope this spurs questions in your mind about these issues. Good Luck on your paper.

I think it would be fascinating to study a guy like Ted Bundy and discover how he evaded capture for so long, especially even after the authorities had a pretty good idea of what he was up to.
