You can use a banana for an example. Potassium ions are in a banana. You could also get a video on line (or at least some images) of potassium reacting with water. It explodes and the hydrogen gas produced burns with a lavender flame.

Potassium is really cool. It's in bananas and orange juice, also potassium chloride is a very cool chemical. Potassium is naturally present in the body, and helps regulate heartbeat, but in excess, it disturbs the heart so much it causes death. Potassium's symbol is K. I know the K comes from the original name of the element, but I don't know what that name is. Good luck with your project.
