No to the first, haven't gone bowling in a looooooong time, I think the last time was in college... didn't regularly go barefoot back then.
And no, the few times that I did go bowling I didn't drop a ball on my foot, fortunately.. I think that'll hurt no matter what you're wearing, unless maybe you were already bend over and it only dropped a half inch or so :P :P

Not barefooted. Someone ELSE has dropped a ball on my toesies- Once was good enough. I do not want to repeat that little event again.

No, the bowling alley makes you wear their hideous shoes. They make them that ugly so no one will steal them!
Never dropped the ball on my foot either.

I don't think they let you bowl in bowling allies without bowling shoes...so therefore my answer is no ... on both counts.
