I have noticed a big decline in hip hop and a rather big boost in rock and metal... I'm thankful for this since I am a metal head, what does anyone else think about it?

Here my opinion :
Every music in this world are in a circle of music life. Every single genre of music come and go every year, and no single music get lost. For so long rock / metal music always alive, their flame always burn and it will never end and forever. Right now we can see so many metal or rock band born, many record label also born after some are closed. So many. The progression of metal or rock music is really amazing. Every year there are so many cool bands to listen to. and they are really a brand new band. They give us some cool music but they keep in the mainstream. The underground is also alive, maybe this underground music right now have a huge progression, many big independent label are interesting to them. So there are so many indie label keep running their releases with some new band. So then the rock / metal music keep alive.
And also the hip hop music, this music is also availabel, with different music, some brand new artist and some brand new label. But maybe their progression is not big as rock / metal, but i think they keep alive in a small flame.
