abso-frickin-lutely! the people who do that job are the slime that grows behind my toilet. The tactics they use to scare people should warrant felony charges!

Well the first step is to pay your bills, but the collectors are bound by the Federal Trade Commission's Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I have had them try to collect debts from me that weren't even mine and kept harassing me every day because a person had a similar name, and the debt was over 15 years old to begin with, over twice the statute. Just know your rights when dealing with these scumbags. Depending on the circumstances it is better to just hang up and not say a word to them. Unfortunately, the fine print makes it legal. You as a consumer have a choice whether or not to sign and agree to the terms and conditions of the loan and/or credit card.
Always read the fine print,
Always ask questions if you're not sure or don't understand,
Don't sign anything you don't agree with,
And ALWAYS ALWAYS pay your bill on time.

Did you see that show on 20/20? I think people should be responsible and pay their bills and then we wouldn't need bill collectors.

please dont compare people who use legal action to collect money from irresponsible people to mass murdurers
come on!:
"give us the money you owe" vs. "im going to kill a thousand innocent people" how are these anything close to similar?
