Sure you can--no problem on that. Why not try and take the pipes loose at the fittings instead if the blockage is not too far down the pipes. Try unscrewing the "P-trap" and check here first--this is a typical place to get blocked up.

Drano is not any good. Check a hardware store for ROGO. It is very strong. Before you buy something empty most of the water out with a cup then take a plastic cup upside down in the drain and push up and down. Sometimes the suction will pop air down and unclog the drain. Good Luck

Draino never worked worth a crap for me. But it wont hurt plastic pipes.

If you have a toilet bowl plunger try holding the stopper up by pushing down on the button you use to close it and pump the plunger up and down a few times to unclog the drain

absolutly.. plastic is better.. many drain cleaners will actually even eat through old metal pipes..
