What is your overall strategy for conducting academic Web searches?

If you conduct research on line you need to make sure that you use a crediable source. If you are looking for journal articles you may be able to use an online search engine and then go to the library to get your aticles. Usually it is best to do both.

It is important to know something about the author of any subject and information source. Due to the relative ease in posting to the internet, it is most important there. Having said that, it is possible to find a crackpot in any information medium. This site is a great example of that. So...do string searches on the author and try to find out information on her or him.
