You like most women have read to ofar into what he has said. He has tried to say that looks arent as important as the things that make you who you are. Don't read too far into thigns that we men say, you might find you enjoy what we say far more.

He means you are not beautiful but you are good woman and that is the only thing that matters to him. He isn't saying your ugly just a way of telling you he had seen better but you are the one he choose and he doesn't mind you not being a dream girl. He shouldn't say things like that, tell him back yeah, I know because you are the same way it not what is outside it is what is inside, and watch his eyes pop out, tit for tat.

Think dear if your husband appeared ugly to you would you be married? Men, like women, know the kind of person that they prefer and apparently you were/are the one that he was looking for to share his life with - In My eyes my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world and I would fight any man that spoke bad of her - that make you BEAUTIFUL!!!

No, he is not insulting you. He is just telling you that no matter WHAT you LOOKED like, he would STILL love YOU for YOU! I think it's sweet; and reassuring (just in case, God forbid, you ever get into a bad accident that leaves you lookin' JACKED-UP!!!!) =) YIKES!!! lol!
