Hi I am 39 weeks and I just had my baby doctor appointment, and I was told I am measuring small, and he booked me an ultrasound for feb.1st. my EDD is Feb.5.th. This is my First baby and I am so scared he isn't okay. he moves a lot and his heartbeat today was 160. but hearing he was concerned, and the ultrasound would tell me the weight and size of the baby. scares me. has this happend to any of you? And was your baby okay? I am so freaking out. thanks in advance

same thing happened to me, but the ultrasound showed that the baby was fine.they said that he was measuring small because of the was he was positioned in there. I'm sure your baby is fine, but i was worried too, until the day he was born. i ended up having him a day after my due date and he 7lbs. 11oz. and 21 inches long! very healthy too! good luck with the ultrasound & delevery!

As long as your measurements have continued to go up each visit things are most likely fine. Some women carry more across their bodies and the up and down measurement is not the same as what would "normally" be expected for date. I am also in this scenario, though the baby is healthy and of normal size. So I'm sure you will be OK as well. good luck with the ultrasound and delivery.

Sometimes women measure smaller toward the end of their pregnancy because the baby is descending down into the birth canal ("dropping"). For my baby I measured in the 50th percentile and dropped to the 25th as my pregnancy went along. Everybody commented on how small my belly was - my midwives were absolutely not concerned as I was gaining weight and had lots of fetal movement. I ended up giving birth 3 days before my due date. My son was 7lbs 8oz - exactly in the 50th percentile. I think doctors get women worried about these things. I was very happy to have had midwives - they were great, so reassuring. Don't worry - be healthy.

At this stage the measurments your doctor takes arent very accurate So dont stress. My friends doctor kept telling her that her baby was really small and they were worried and she ended up having an 8 pound 3 ounce baby.

My friend also measured small, but she was very slender and didn't eat very much during her pregnancy. Your baby should be fine, they consider normal birth weight anywhere from 5 pounds to 8 pounds. You will not be delivering prematurely so your baby's system will be mature. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your little baby! ; )

i wouldn't be worrying to much because sometimes you can measure small if the baby is in a weird position. i would wait and see what its like when that ultrasound comes back... because sometimes baby's get in weird positions, that's what happened with my baby, she was measuring big but it was because of how she was laying.. good luck though

Tehy said the same thing to my step mom and my lil bro was 7 pounds so he was average- i think you'll be fine- remember they can only feel the uterus from the outside when they measure so how do you know he felt it right
