I know that the majority of people who learn to play the violin start at a young age, I do not wish to start learning just now, but how much difficult would it be if I try when I am 20 years old (per say)

Start at any age, when you truly want to play an instrument it will happen.
Like all learning, never to late to start, be it painting, singing, anything.
If the interest is there you will have no problem.
The local colleges and such are packed with people of all ages part and full time learning about things that interest them.

i started in middle school but it is not hard to play at all it is very easy in fact what is hard is making it sound perfected so i would say it would be easy to learn at 20 but you have less time learning how to perfect the sound

Well, it would be fairly difficult, but not that hard. If you go at your own pace, and learn notes, you should be a pro in no time. I learned at age 9, but the classes were going so fast, so I got private lessons, wich made it eassier for me to go at my own pace, wich made me learn faster.

I say go for it!!!
