Why would been plus size cause any complications? I am also plus size and couldn't imagine any if i was pregant. If anything you are better equiped than a skinnier woman, as you already know what to do with the bulge! I have never been pregant, but my mum has 3 times, and all 3 times she LOST weight when she got pregnant, because you become aware of the junk you are putting in yourself. Just eat healthly, and see your doctor if you are concerned. Really, the only thing i can see is maybe your feet may swell (happens to all tho), and maybe in the emergency if something happens and they need to move you or do a c-sect. But there would most likely be bigger people than you in the same scenario! Well best of luck. Don't let whoever told you that get to you.

I was plus size when I was pregnant with both of my kids. Well I was size 18 with my son.....and now bigger since my daughter was born. Anyway I had no problems with my son. My daughter on the other hand was born early but that might have nothing to do with being plus size.
Just eat healthy and get some exercise and your pregnancy will be healthier. Don't listen to others. Only listen to your doctor.

i'm also a plus size mommy. Both of my pregnancys were great. Yes it is uncomfortable but its like that for all women. just remember when the baby is lying on the nerves on your back put a heating pad on your belly and the baby will move. It may not stay that way but it helps. Don't worry in heavy people have great pregnancys. and if you would like any more advice i have a group on yahoo for mommies we would be happy to give you more advice. if you would like to join just send me an e-mail and i'll send you an invite good luck staceymichellewilson@yahoo.com

I am also a plus size mommy and my pregnancy has been normal so far. I am 39 weeks today, so everything has been great! The only thing that was kinda depressing was that because i was heavier, it took longer to get the baby bump. Just make sure that you walk and exercise per your doctor's orders.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Honey 23 years ago I weighed 200 lbs when I got pregnant with my daughter I had morning sickness but I also ate right I would walk every day no matter what it was like outside each day I added a little to my walk after I gave birth which was easy I got pregnant Immediately with my 2nd child in the 9th month of pregnancy with her I weighed 50 lbs less than when I got pregnant with the 1st after I gave birth I was down to 145lb when I came home from the hospital my mother even went and bought me a new outfit to wear to the doctor because everything I owned was too big. so every pregnancy is different just eat right and excersise and you will be fine.

I've been plus sized all my life and my pregnancy was text book.
I was working doing maid service in a hotel at the time. I believe that walking up and down the stairs and lots of movement helped as well. It was my "exercise" and helped keep my muscles strong for labor.
You might want to look at your local library for an exercise tape that can be used during pregnancy. I believe that it was due to the extra movent that labor was easier.
Oh, and lmaize does work. :)

Being plus sized does not mean automatic trouble with a pregnancy. You may be more at risk for gestational diabetes and may have a larger weight baby at birth. Watch yourself like any new mother would, and youll do fine, but try and stay away from the sugar as hard as that may be!!

I'm plus size and pregnant and so far have not had any complications. Because of my appetite change I've been eating a lot healthier too. It's different though with each prenancy.
Here's a very helpful website...
