What makes a soul-mate is someone that you "connect" with on some other level than just friends. Maybe there are some cosmic powers at work that we'll never know about in this lifetime.
I don't think you have to marry them, I don't think you ever necessarily have to even meet them, but you always have a specific connection that you haven't experienced before with another human. It's a bond - to the short and simple of the matter.
I have met my soul-mate: I know him, I respect him, I love him - I have told him that. I only see him (maybe) once a month. At the end of the day, I know if we were to be bound by the sanctity of marriage we would be miserable within the confines of that unity under God.
He is a true friend and a blessing in my life. I don't worry that I say something wrong or out of character. He allows me to speak my mind and not be held accountable for thinking a specific way or feel guilty for saying what I think is important.
I don't believe at the end of the day we'll end up together, I just think that the forces of the universe led us to each other as a helping hand.

A Soulmate is someone who is on your "Wavelength"; someone who thinks like you, or can at least see where you're coming from, someone you can talk to about things that you can't with anyone else or who could understand things that you don't feel anyone else could; it's basically a confidante and could come in the form of a lover, friend or even someone in your family. I think the common misconception is that people confuse a Soul Mate with "The One", but though it can be the same person, it doesn't have to be.

No and maybe Yes............Not everyone are lucky enough to marry their soulmate, that's why someone end up in seeing someone else, cheating with their spouse and worst.....end up in divorce or separation...Maybe you might wondering why someone end up marrying a wrong person?...well, we called it FATE,maybe its her/his fate to marry one or two times before he/she finally found his/her soulmate.....and it happened to most people I knew.Soulmate is someone you're comfortable with, you shared the same feelings, dreams and fantasy,.....You will know it once you found yours.
And you maybe right.......no one knows who is your soulmate.........maybe he/she is just besides you all the while........maybe its your neighbour, your siblings friend or your own best friend.
Don't look for your soulmate by your eyes.......FEEL IT BY YOUR "H E A R T".........and you won't get wrong.

No a soul mate isn't always the person you marry.
I had mine and she wanted time apart and got knocked up by some A-whole and married him.
So no that dosen't happen all the time.
