I graduated from high school 14 years ago. I was in and out of college until about 25 when I had my son. After working in a number of environments, including retail (as sales, assist. Mgr and Mgr.), an auto auction and in a medical billing office, I decided at 28 that I needed to finish my degree. I took some general education requirements at a local community college that I had previously attended for a year and then transferred to one of my state's larger University centers. I am now, 3 years later, graduating with my bachelors in Biology. I will be starting summer classes for my graduate work in adolescent education so that I can be a high school Biology teacher.

I decided long ago that the working world wasn't all that it was cracked up to be without a college education. And I can tell you without a doubt that taking classes full time is a hell of a lot better than working full time 40 hours a week. I have had to work for 2 years of my college education but finally left my position in October so that I could focus on the final stretch of my academic "career".

I haven't experienced the "normal" college experience. I only lived in a dorm for 4 months when I was 17. I haven't had time for clubs or extra-circular activities. Other than that, I think school is great, but I am pro-education all the way!

I think that school is okay, it depends on the teacher and and how that teacher teaches, what type of learner you are, and your enviroment!
Personally I love school, but it is very easy to be distracted if you are associating with the wrong people. and it really does pay off later on!!
It just depends on the student! Whether they are there to play or learn!
