Generally, their lives become a little more sedintary. Also, pregnant women can turn into eating machines. I have lived with one twice. You typically end up eating more as well. The difference, you are not feeding two when you do it.

We went to a rodeo one time with my ex's cousin who was pregnant. The 4 hours we were there, she was stuffing her face the whole time. As small as she was, I was amazed at how she kept packing it in.

Well, for some stupid reason a lot of women think that they need to eat more when they are pregnant. This is simply untrue as they only need a couple hundred extra calories per day and that really isn't that much, but unfortunately women take pregnancy as an excuse to let themselves go and get fat and nasty. They indulge in every craving they've had since childhood and pack on the pounds and spew out their lie of an excuse "well I'm eating for two." and after the pregnancy "well it's because I got pregnant." Their husbands see their wives becoming fat cows (pregnant women do make milk, ya know) and let themselves go as well. Indulging every craving and packing on the pounds. Their excuse? Well, they don't need an excuse. They are men!

I think women who actually take care of themselves when pregnant and don't pack on the pounds and use pregnancy as an excuse to get fat would find that their husbands do not gain weight. Given that their husbands are healthy pre-pregnancy and not emotional eaters as stress can lead to overindulgence when it comes to food.
