My sister is going to school to be an art teacher and she asked for my help with the philosophy of what it means to be an art teacher, now I am asking for your help. What really makes art education valuble to society...or even the world?

Art gives us the ability to "see" not only what is there physically but to translate the uniqueness and beauty of each physical reality into something the spirit of man can touch. Without art we limit ourselves to the mere physical but with art we see life with our spirit and soul. Art "speaks" to us of what lies beneath the surface of our limited physical constraints.

Oops, I let the secret out of the bag - its all about the communication of emotion and thats an important skill for young people to experience and practice.
