sometimes its because they do not have consent from those people. and in some cases, when its the person their arresting whos face is blurred, its because they are found innocent in court for the charges they were being arrested for

I think they have to have signed releases from people to show their faces on TV, also some people need their identity protected, like some of the criminals on reality cop shows. The high school band in my town submitted some film to America's Funniest Video, they had to get releases signed by all the students parents before they would show it on TV.

Most of the time it's because the show did not receive a consent form from the person to allow them to be put on television.

Its to protect the peoples faces, and sometimes the cops too, since their "buddies" might want to know who put him/her in jail. Also. If you killed someone, would you want your face shown like worldwide on TV?
