Well we wont attack untill they attack
History teaches us that only the aggressors learn from history. The appeasers never learn from it.
Look at Pre-WWII Germany, no one took Hitler seriously and we were so afraid of a another war breaking out w/ WW1 still pretty fresh on everyone’s mind. So we pretty much appeased him, and looked how that turned out.
Now take a look at Iran, they are basically doing everything they want, while the U.N is going a great job of doing NOTHING.
Prz Ahmadinejad when in Iran spews out anti-America and anti-Israel rants but when in any other country where he will be shown on Tv he is the opposite
We will not attack Iran unless they attack us...or a ally ..such as Israel.
Israel can't afford a nuclear Iran. Its suicide for them to let that happen. Israel will most likely take a preemptive strike on Iran. If nothing is done it will not stop a war, it will happen one way or the other.

Actually mild_irritant is right. Right now our ENTIRE ARMY is smaller than the force we sent into Kuwait in Gulf War 1... thank Bill Clinton and his military downsizing of the 90s. We don't have the forces to hit Iran till Iraq calms down.
The Iranians have a very simple war plan. They know that as long as things are a mess in Iraq our Army will be tied down there, and we can't go into Iran... so they have been supporting the insurgents in Iraq, supplying them with weapons, money, training, volunteers, etc. Their plan is to keep us tied up in Iraq, chasing our tails, while they keep working on the Bomb. They figure after they test a nuke we won't DARE to invade because they could simply nuke our forces when they went in... and they figure we won't nuke them because Washington is too afraid of bad press.
They are also heavily backing Hezbollah in Palestinian Territories and Lebanon (to keep the Israelis tied up until Iran can finish their bomb). That is why Hezbollah had a war with Israel last summer.
Rumsfeld played right into this strategy by repeatedly refusing attempts to expand the Army. We simply don't have enough troops to handle all the jobs we have to do right now, we don't have the force to handle a war with Iran on top of it.
That's the situation. Not a pretty one, but that's the answer to your question.

Because it would turn out worse than Iraq, turn the muslim community against us even more, would get China angry at us, and drain our nation of even more resources.
Its overall a very bad idea

Go right ahead. Just be sure you leave the United States and the American people out of it. We don't want any.
