Being a non-Cubs fan in a Cubs family, particularly on the North Side of Chicago.
Now, just to refresh your memory, the Cards BARELY won the division, were just over .500 on the season, went to 7 games against the Mets and then managed to win the WS only because the Tigers real WS had been against the Yankees. That's not a definition of a good team - it's the definition of a wake-up call.

Think we can win 84 games this year(Cubs). Suck A$$ Cardinals only won 83 last year. 12 teams in major league baseball had a better record. If they were in any other division they wouldnt have even made the playoffs. Basically a team that shouldnt have made the playoffs(12 teams better) and then got hot. Would be like an 8-8 team making the NFL playoffs then winning the Superbowl.

Whats worse, probably asking this question. Almost 1/2 of major league ball clubs are bought teams including your beloved Cards. Free agency has turned as many teams that can afford it into spending freaks or in some cases geniuses.

What's worse. You could have the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and that's horrible. Don't come down on the team for spending money and trying to field the best team that they could. They will challenge the Cardinals who backed in to the title and the series.

That's funny. I have never said that we will win the division. Hell, the Pirates have a chance to win the division in the middle of the offseason. And convince me that the Cards have real pitching, other than Carpenter, and maybe I'll listen.

I can't think of anything that's worse. You stumped me. I do agree the Cards will more than likely win the Central. My 'Stros will end up distant second. The Cubbies could end up third. The Cards and the 'Stros are the only really good teams in the weak Central.
