Like almost every new trendy accessories, glasses can be the perfect thing to compliment your outfit, or it can be the one thing that turns "fab" into "drab".
If you are going to go for the smart business woman then a pair of glasses can go perfectly with a fancy suit, pulled back hair, and dangled earrings.
Glasses also go well if you're trying to pull off the whole "just got up" look. Leave your hair looking natural, keep you make up simple, and throw on jeans and a t-shirt, and the glasses compliment the look completely.
But one of the most important parts about pulling off glasses is that you have to find the right pair. Right now, thin plastic frames are the way to go, and you just have to make sure that the shape compliments your face shape, and the size doesn't make your eyes look too big or small.

Sadly that seems to be they way it's looking these days. Now even regular old glasses aren't just for people with seeing problems. I've worn them since I was 17 and not once did I think I was trendy for wearing them, I hated them. Got contacts because once upon a time you were called "four eyes" because of glasses. Now because a few celebrities throw them on to look intellectual, they are trendy! I'm sure a few celebs actually need them, but come on..glasses aren't going to help Paris look or sound smart!

I would say glasses are more of a statement than a trend. People don't just use their glasses to see anymore; they use them as a way to express their personal style. That's why so many designers like D&G and Juicy Couture are jumping on the frame bandwagon.

If you mean sunglasses, yes. Very much so. But If you mean regular glasses, yes. I notice that they have changed the styles of glasses these days so yes, I think they are a fashion trend.

Glasses have been in existence for over a century. They've just become more acceptable. The fact that a lot of thought has been put into designing fashionably-hip eyewear hasn't hurt those who have to wear them. In the 21st century, eyewear's become a fashion accessory icon, even those who don't need to wear them have gotten a pair just to look good!

yes they are..and have been on a rise for the last few years now. as a person who has worked in the industry I have seen an increase in the number of people who want not only effective glasses but the "look" that is in. sunglasses are the thing to get this season...even in the dead of winter you can see people from ages 9 to 90 toting all sorts of sizes and cuts of frames.
unfortunately for the teenie bopper group the smaller the lens the better....which isn't exactly the best thing for their vision. the chunky colored plastic glasses are faboo....but take it from me NOT Easy to adjust to a child's face. either they fit perfectly or they dont...and if they dont..you'll have a heck of a time getting them to stay adjustted correctly

Yes, the (for lack of better word) emo glasses are. Don't wear glasses unless you need to wear glasses for a vision problem.

Somewhat. Older people find that they look younger wearing glasses, because the glasses hide the signs of aging on their faces.

Sunglasses these day are often worn large, many women have large sunglasses.
For normal viewing glasses it would be probably a sleek, metallic design in Silver or gray.
