where u see f(x) u substitute the function given which is x^2

where u see f(x+h) u substitute 'x+h' for wherever u see x in the function so f(x+h) = (x+h)^2

the substitute in x=1 and manipulate the equation to cancel out the h on the denominator.

i shall leave u to do the rest
