Take about a million and spend it on my family and friends and add a little more cushion to my retirement funds. Then set up a foundation with the rest of it and have fun giving it away to worthy causes.

Of course I would do all the responsible things first. Pay off bills etc. Then I would build a house on some land - and take care of my sisters and parents. After that it would be fun for me and college/trust funds for the girls. Oh yeah I would hire a personal chef and a personal trainer. All rich people are buff.

pay off all debts, put half away in a savings account, donate to charity and cancer research, and then go buy an astin-martin v12 vanquish and some nice clothes with the remainder.

Be sure that inflation does not erode it. Therefore Invest a part of it.
Be sure that it is enough for you to retire. The rest of it spend, but
not foolishly.
