Do I go to the Social Security office first or the DMV? Can I mail my information or do I have to go in person to the SS office? I looked it up on the internet but, I guess I am a little confused.

I went to the SS office personally because things get changed quicker that way. After I received a confirmation of change letter at the ss office I went to the DMV and changed it on my driver's license.

Take you marriage license to the SS office, and they will change it there. Then head to the DMV, or in Texas DPS station, and change your license. Once that is done, you just notify you creditors and bank. Some will want to see proof, some will not. Most likely the bank will want you to come in. After that, you just present yourself to everyone else with the new last name.

Take your marriage certificates (or qualified replica) to the social protection workplace w/ your drivers license and that i think of beginning certificates too. Fill out workplace work. In some weeks you will get a clean SS card. Do the comparable element for the DMV.
