My w2 had a total of about $3000. About how much should i recieve back?

You have not provided enough information. How much was withheld? That is a very important piece of the puzzle. Also, we would need to know your filing status and if someone else can claim you as a dependent.

IF you are single and IF you had federal withholding you should file and without any dependents, you will received whatever was withheld for federal income tax because you income was to low to pay any taxes. All that changes if your situation change; you have another W-2, your married, your parents claim you on their return, etc.
