I am a Lakers fan and he ISNT my fav player in the league, but why do you people hate the guy? Usually people like him, people jump the wagon and love? Is it jealousy? Before you say "oh he raped that girl", umm, they dropped the charges, so sorry, no conviction. Before you say "he is a ball hog".... I just figured out the math and maybe im wrong, but so far and including this year....he averages 18.47 shots a game, while everyones favorite Michael Jordan averaged 22.88 shots a game during his career. But Jordan wasnt a ball hog haha? Seriously, I need a good excuse why people hate him. When Jordan scored 55 they made a freaking commercial about the "double nickel". Bryant scores 81 and nothing is said. I personally think its jealousy and also the fact that he is proving people wrong when everyone said "there will never be anyone as good as Jordan". Guess what, there is, and he proves it night after night.

People hate on Kobe because people hate on all great players in the NBA, even for flimsy reasons. Is there a single player in the NBA right now who's beloved by everybody?
They say Kobe's a selfish ball hog. You don't score 81 without the ball.
They say Tim Duncan's soft. Those three championships aren't made of Charmin.
They say Shaq's out of shape. Shaq's not 22 anymore. Guys get old, guys get hurt.
They say Steve Nash doesn't play D. Yeah, neither does a pinball machine, and you can't outscore one of those either.
The best revenge is watching your guy walk off the floor with a win dang near every night.

Ok, really people are supposed to hate him for many reasons, but the biggest is he's trying to be better than Michael Jordan. Think about it: In the last All-Stars game wih Michael Jordan, it was his last game for his career. A second to play, game tied. East gives ball to MJ, and he runs up to take the shot. He expects it to go in, cause it's his last shot of his life-- and Bryant comes out of nowhere, blocking his jumper! What? The game goes into OT, and crowd is crazy. Why Kobe block Jordan's shot? OT, the West wins, and instead of Jordan being the MVP, Kobe becomes MVP.
Many of the other reasons were also good, like cheating on his wife.
Yeah, but you gotta admit, MJ is the best player, and Kobe trying to top that, it's a shame. Shots don't matter, all MJ cares is winning with his team, not winning pct or ppg, like Kobe. Oh, and when Bryant scored 81, Raptors sucked hell. Come on, Kobe doesn't win games, he wins ppg.

Dude he has been through a lot. Questions like this and the media just make it worst. I think if you are worrying about weather he hates or not I think you personally need to get a LIFE.

What kind of question is that? Umm...let’s see....Kobe blocked Jordan's shot because that is what you are suppose to do. If you are on the other team you are not just going to let Jordan take the shot to win the game, you are going to do whatever it takes so that your team wins the game. Even if it means blocking someone else’s.

Kobe is the best they robbed him of the MVP last year and called him a ball hog even though the team wins went up with his scoring average. They only give him a Nike commercial calling him the 2nd coming subliminally with other players in it, he get's suspended for no reason, he gets bad call, and no calls, he's not even allowed to win a scoring title without people trying to lynch him. I'm sick of it to be honest. I don't think any human being deserves this bs and I think he was falsely accused of rape and telling police Shaq cheats on his wife probably came out when he was nervous and not thinking this would all be made public, and I doubt when he's facing serious jail time rating Shaq out was the first thing on his mind. And to the dude underneath me if you noticed he's different in interviews now because when he was younger and being himself people bashed him for being cocky and ofcourse the apology to his wife was sincere I doubt he wanted to lose he, have her cheat to get even or take 1/2 his money in court.

Well Kobe Bryant has been having negative publicity ever since he was "accused" of being a rapist. Having that personal fight with Shaq. When a player like this is accused of being raped then his publicity goes down the drain. The reason he is hated all the time is because of the image society has put onto him

yea im a lakers fan and he is the best in the league, i guess people r pissed cuz he beat their favorite team at the buzzer or blew them out, or embarrassed their star player. some people want to keep on believing mj is the best and will always be the best. im not saying thats not true, but kobe is the closest anyone has come.

Although I don't think he raped that girl, I do think less of him for cheating on his wife and then pulling that phony apology with her at the press conference. The main reasons I don't like Kobe is that he seems very phony when he gives interviews, and I think he places more importance on being "the man" than his team winning. No respect for that!

I agree with you. He is unbelievably underated while guys that are worse than him are constantly known as "better" even though they suck. I just thing that even though they dropped the charges, it still scarred his reputation. He is becoming more of a passer these days though.
