for a while there they were trying to make cult classic movies. which means making movies that barley anybody likes but the few people that do like it. watch it over an over again and merchandise till a movie actually makes more than a normal movie.

make a cult movie means making a bad an cheese movie. so are they getting what there just desserts. are they getting what they put into it. are they ever going to figure out the formula of a cult classic and finally. are they ever going to get that you can't purposely make a cult classic.

example of recent attempts at cult classics
1. snacks on a plan
2. the pick of destiny
3. any comic book movie

These cult movies are NOT even close to being cheesy (so the cheese formula doesn't hold up, imho)
Not Cheesy are:
Night Of The Living Dead
Reefer Madness (over the top yes, cheesy no)
Pink Floyd's The Wall
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)
A Clockwork Orange

I could go on and on... There are MANY movies that ARE cheesy and are STILL GREAT. They're just not 'cult classic'. Just classic like:
Return Of The Living Dead
Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes
Night Of The Creeps
Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke
Blazing Saddles
and so on
;-)
Anyone who has ever attempted to create a cult or a classic or a cult classic have failed miserably. Some things just happen because they're supposed to and can't be calculated by current trends or future progression.
