That is a bit of a dilemma considering there's so much to see in both city's. I'm from and live in Amsterdam. Two days is very short, I would make it three here and four in Barcelona.
Here are many lovely museums that you can see, but just museum hopping for three days is not fun anymore of course. Besides the museums, the city is very beautiful on it's own, especially by night. A canal cruise, a walk trough the historical parts of the city with a guide, eating Dutch food and a small trip outside Amsterdam to Volendam are just a few things you can do. The city is not too big so it's easy to get from one place to another even by foot.
In Barcelona may things are a little more further apart. But four days are easily filled, it's a beautiful city as well but totally different and the food is great!
Enjoy your trip!

My husband and I spent 5 days in Barcelona and found that there was plenty to see in that time period. (There were still things we missed, too, but what can you do?).
I've never been to Amsterdam before but it seems a shame to only give it 2 days though. Call out to Amsterdam experts -- could you fill up 3 days with sight-seeing there?
No matter what, I would recommend for you to spend no less than 4 days in Barcelona. There is just too much to see. You are going to have an amazing time!

I would spend three days in Amsterdam and four in Barcelona (as it has better weather) But there is a lot to see in Holland and its so easy to get around there as so many people speak English. You could easily take a day tour out of amsterdam and then be back. Its only a small country but its so friendly.

I've visited both places last summer. It really depends on what you want to see and do both cities have so much to offer. I would recommend from my experience 3days in the netherlands and 4 in Barcelona. I really like Barcelona because Spain is beautiful and the night life is great, Although in the Netherlands there is so much to see like Anne Franks house-make sure you take a ferry down the river!

None of those places are 'countries', puppy. they're all cities. in my view i does no longer hassle, via fact Barcelona and Rome are so a techniques faraway from the two one yet another and Paris which you may ought to the two dedicate to flights, which might advise dropping 0.5 an afternoon each and each at an airport, or in one day prepare journeys, which might advise dropping a extensive volume of sleep. in case you have your heart set on Barcelona and Rome, then circulate to those 2 places only. and that i might advise investigating a flight between the two cities, or a ferry from Barcelona to Italy, fairly than the prepare. And fairly than dropping it sluggish dithering over web pages, positioned funds into sturdy return and forth handbook books for those cities. i admire the DK Eyewitness return and forth classes sequence, yet there are a number of super classes obtainable. try the return and forth area on your nearest bookshop.
