If he stays healthy, I think he is one of the tops in the league.

If Burnett can stay reasonably healthy, he can win 15-17 games and could very well be a catalyst if Toronto is in the running for a playoff spot.

I think he will have a solid season if healthy, but there is no way that he is one of the best in the league, healthy or not. He's been around since 1999, and his career high in wins is only 12, which he's done twice. Even when the Marlins won the World Series in '03, he missed most of the season, and had nothing to do with their success. He is just another pitcher with great stuff, and who hasn't figured out how to use it, which is why he's only 59-58 for his career. Also for a guy with his stuff, you would think his career ERA would be better than 3.77 after spending most of his career in the National League. He's a number four starter on a good team.

If he stays healthy he will have a solid season in 2007. But he won't be in the tops yet. Why?
If he works on his curveball then he will not rely on his fastball as much making him very unpredictable.
Second if he can start and pitch deep into games then I think he will be a top pitcher in the league, maybe even a Cy Young winner!

I think that atleast one of the years that he is in Toronto will be close to a Cy Young type year, Maybe 07 or 08 but after this years market that signing will more than likely be a good one for the Jays whe all is said and done. '07 15-6 and top 10 in ERA and WHIP.

I agree with you. If he can stay healthly he can be one of the leagues top pitchers. That's a big if though.

He is indeed a good player when he is not injured. But I wouldn't call him one of the tops because he relies on his fastball too much.
