it is entirely possible that you are feeling the baby. The average is between 16-20weeks. Being overweight has nothing to do with feeling the baby. At first it can be feeling like flutters, or a bubble popping, the harder movements usually don't start until after 20 weeks. So if you think you are feeling movement you probably are. Good luck

Around 16 wks, they felt like flutters or gas at different times, you probably are feeling the baby move, weight has no bearing on this. In the early stages of feeling movement pregnant women don't feel all the baby's movements.

I felt flutters at about 16wks - they are few and far between and its easy to doubt yourself and think it's your imagination... but i'll bet its your baby!
I felt stronger movements at 20 wks - and now at 29wks there is no doubting anything! lol. My baby is a bit hyperactive and moves all the time - not only do i feel it but you can see my stomach moving too.
I don't think being overweight affects feeling baby movements - it'll become stronger over the next few weeks and all doubt will be cast from your mind!

If you are overweight, it can play a part in feeling your baby move. Also, it can be difficult to distinguish between baby and intestinal movement this early. It is normal to not feel the baby (especially if it is your first) until 20-24 weeks. You will feel your baby soon, don't worry. Then you will want him to stop kicking you so much!!

I had a very hard time deciding if my baby was moving or not. Like you i couldnt tell if it was ever movement or gas or what...and I was left kinda hanging Until I felt her kick for the first time and knew for sure it was her. And that was on my way to my 20 week ultrasound. And i wasnt over weight at all when i got pregnant. I think it just depends more on you and your baby just let your doctor know you are concerned.

I felt my baby at 18 and a half weeks so you are probably feeling it-- I wasn't sure at first if it was that but this week am positive that's what it is because it happens all the time now and it's harder kicks---good luck

your at the right time...and the feeling of flutters...like butterfly wings lightly flicking your womb is very common. That is what I felt with both my daughters. It was so cool! I still remember the first time I felt them move. Congrats!
