Yes every time we make a decision the world splits in two for each of the possibilities. a world for each choice we could have made exists. Rent "the butterfly effect" to see it in action

Yeah, you got me confused.

Did you read about this somewhere -- not in a fantasy story? Did the author say that everybody else was wrong, only he had the truth? Or was is a serious physics article?

There is something in physics called the "Many Worlds" interpretation of quantum theory. Is that what you mean? All the worlds have the same number of dimensions. Actually, according to this interpretation, the worlds kind of smear into each other -- it's not like there one world "here" and another one "there". It's more like "this is my side of the room, and that's your side, and Mom gets mad if we draw a line down the middle, so we won't."

When a star collapses and becomes a black hole, the amount of gravity it produces is so great that not even light or something going as fast as the speed of light can escape it, hence the name black hole, you probably cannot see anything that not even light can escape, what you see might not even be there, but rather an image that something else has been bent, the gravity is so great that some people believe that any kind of matter coming into contact by that powerful force of gravity would end up in a "time-still" state, frozen in time. But what happens to the matter that gets caught in the force after billions of years thereafter? Maybe the fictional comics and movies about blackholes sending you to different dimensions could be true, but honestly, no one can answer a question that is beyond our abilities, it's something so much greater and mysterious that we may never understand. By the way, some people also believe since, there are black holes, maybe, just maybe...there is something of the opposite effect, called White Holes... creating a worm hole that may take you to a different dimension or to another great distance elsewhere, but there is no proof of that entity, it's just a mathematical theory that describes a mere spectrum, I myself wouldn't want to be crushed in less than a couple of seconds by jumping into a black hole....

You seem to talking about parallel universes.
Many prominent people believe they exist some have even suggested a number.
We live in a four dimensional universe,3space 1 time
this seems to fulfill all our needs so trying to delve into more dimensions is strictly in the realm of science fiction.

There is a scientific theory called String Theory that does say there is a multiverse of infinite possibility. This theory can neither be proven or disproven however.

To the guy who "quotes" Stephen Hawking... He said nothing about the matter going into another dimension. His theoretical model shows that black holes actually do leak energy therefore losing their mass. That is how he explains the law of conservation of mass/energy.

Maybe. I believe most scientists agree that other dimensions are a possibility. The only trouble is that it can't be proven..at least not yet. There is so much we do not understand, for instance.. our eyes can see only a very small spectrum of light. The rest is invisible to us altho some of the invisible radiation from the sun and other stars can be detected with instruments. Our species is probably in its infancy in its accusation of knowledge.

Time is our fourth dimention. Beyound that, scientists, or rather mathmaticians have calculated 'proofs' for up to ten dimentions, they only have the numbers however, not the meaning or the applicability. If I were a serious buddhist i'd tell you that the final 2' dimentions' would be being and nothingness, if you could wrap your mind around those being the same you would discover there is no dimention, and that is the only dimention

the fourth dimension according to Einstein is 'time' and we humans cant visualise it!

There might be extra dimensions stuck in our world but we atre just not able to see them..... but they can be seen clearly in mathematics.

Also its believed that everything breaks down to a 'string theory' and strings are believed to have 11dimensions curled within them!

According to Hawking, yes. the Multiverse theory was something he more recently proposed as to being the explination how black holes can disappear along with everything they ahve sucked in going with them out of existance. he claims that since the black hole would not exist in all universe the mater would still exist in the multiverse, holding true to the conservation of mass/energy in thermodynamics.

Unfortunately I don't think anyone is capable to answer that question, much like the "Is there a God?" or "Is there an afterlife?" questions. It exists as a hypothesis, but only that.
