Do you think it shatters into a million pieces and takes forever to place back together..or do you think that it actually withers away into something dark and obsolete?

When I got divorced, when I finally got divorced, my heart did not break because it had already withered into something dark and obsolete, and it took some time to nuture it back to a healthy organ.
Later, when a guy I was dating and cared a lot for was killed on his Harley, I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. Although it is coming back together again, I find myself being very careful with it because I am not sure just how much more abuse it can take. There is someone I want very badly to trust with my heart, and I am working on that process

I believe that a heart can break in many different ways, depending on the situation.... something out of no where can shatter it, someone can break off piece by piece......there are so many ways a heart breaks.....

I think a piece at a time it is slowly broken down and those pieces cant be put back theres always a part missing.

i think it gets sliced slowly over time, to little slivers stabbed with needles and pins . then burned so hot, it turns to bits of glass. that shatters on the floor some parts of it turning to fine powder that blows away on the wind. never to return to the way it was before.

it breaks like glasses, several pieces, not millions.
that's why keeping UHU glue is very important. you never know when something breaks and needs fixing.

I think it breaks by becoming sad & depressed.
It also takes a while to become happy again.

i think it's more like it gets freeze dried and numbed like Novocaine and eventually, with time, unthaws and learns to love again
