I'm not sure what you're asking but, if you want to know about graphic arts programs for creating greeting cards, I'd recommend Illustrator, or a similar illustration program. As a greeting card is mostly the image or illustration, not much text is needed to lay it out and, as it is paper-publishable (you'll need a smooth vector image, I would think), vector-based programs, such as Illustrator or FreeHand, would be the ticket.

I have used Photoshop to colorize hand drawn images for greeting cards, but I usually place them on an Illustrator page to finish the card.

i use broderbund print shop 15-cheap and cheerful-but you can design great cards. i use it for designing everything from greetings cards to car signs!
