I'm a very clean person, and have tried all different kinds of deodorant, but none seem to work for me. I hate it so much because i can't wear some shirts that show sweat really bad. i like small t-shirts, but i'm always scared of having to put my arms up and people seeing that i sweat so much. i always wear stuff that hides it. It doesn't stink or anything, but it's always there. i put deodorant on after every shower, and afterwards i can just be sitting around a sweat. What can i get to stop this, and why is it happening?

deodorants no good for you, get an antiperspirant
if you think you sweat too much see a doc, there may be a fixable medical reason

OK, not to split hairs, but do you mean anti-perspirant? Cuz anti-perspirant works on perspiration, but not deodorant. Just checking.
Try a stronger anti-perspirant (like, more of the active ingredient), keep your pits hairless (shave, or wax if you like, though I don't like) and talk to your doc if that doesn't help. There are stronger formulas by prescription, and you can get Botox injections to stop the sweat glands in your underarms, palms, stuff like that. Not that it'll be covered by insurance, but it's an option if you really need it.

Maybe anxiety is the cause, its a viscious cycle: once it gets started you become self conscious and it worsens. Does it occur all the time, or just in social situations. If the latter, behavior modification therapy, learning relaxation techniques, etc. can help. There are also roll on products that stop underarm sweating all together (strong antiperspirants versus plain deoderant which lessens odor). If it becomes debilitating, anxiety drug therapy is also and option.

You ought to ask your doctor - you very well could have a glandular problem, perhaps a thyroid disorder - or check with an endocrinologist. Actually, though, sweat is good because it gets rid of the impurities in your skin/body. But, I know, it's aggravating - I feel for you. Good luck.

I have the same problem...very embarassing, especially when I'm out in public and my little sister points at me saying "look how sweaty you are!!" anyway, i heard that drinking lots of water can kind of clear out the sweat glands and help you not to sweat so much..try it!

Do you take medications? Some medications can have sweating as a side effect.

i had the same problem and i talked to my physician about it. she prescribed an antiperspirant called "DrySol" with aluminum chloride in it. i'm sure there are some over the counter solutions, but if your problem is as bad as you say it is, i would talk to my physician. the only thing with this roll on stuff is that after i put it on and it dries my armpits itch like crazy.
