While the wipes work, a less costly home concoction can do just as well. Use a cup of water with just a drop of liquid soap or detergent. Then use a soft cloth to wipe down your monitor. Finally dry with another soft cloth. Don't pour or spray anything directly on the screen as it could leak through and damage your monitor.

You can also use isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol), either 50% or better yet 90% pure. Either of these methods are safe and cheaper than wipes or buying a microfiber cloth, although those work great too.

A microfiber cloth works well to wipe off any fingerprints or smudges. Be careful not to press on the screen though, and do not use any spray cleaners.

I use regular glass cleaner, I spray it on a paper towel, then clean off the screen.
