Chronic heartburn is usually from acid reflux - stomach acid is getting past the little valve and into your esophagus. You also should know some natural ways to treat your heartburn. Learn them here https://bitly.im/aMA69

The most immediate thing you can do is to stop drinking coffee and cola. Smoking is not good either, but that might be harder to stop. Don't over-eat. Don't lie down too soon after eating. Don't burp too much - this carries acid up with the burp.

heartburn the most common symptom of acid reflux disease (also known as gastroespohageal reflux disease, or GERD). Heartburn feels like a burning pain in the center of the chest. It is caused by acid from the stomach backing up into the esophagus. is a symptom of acid reflux disease (GERD) Also known as Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Heartburn is to much acid in your stomach and/or esophagus
I have found just chewing a stick of gum helps almost every time.
You have special glands in your mouth that work only when you chew and this special "spit" has a high content of some kind of base and it acts a just like baking soda and vinegar without the fizz. So less acid...less heartburn. But be careful I had a ulcer that started to bleed, I spent 2 weeks laying in a hospital bed, so if you problem doesn't go away or happens "all the time" please go see a Doctor

Some people say peppermint but for me, I go for a 6 oz glass of water with about 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in it. Drink it down (it doesn't taste good but you can stand it) and then you will burp. After you burp your heartburn will be gone. Just don't do it too often because of the sodium.

Herbs won't do it as you need to neutralize the acid. Bicarbonate (baking soda) is best.

Eat a stalk of celery; it works great.

Stop eating what cases the problem. Try to avoid wheat and yeast products. See if it helps.

Try lemon juice in water. Amazingly enough it works quite well for me.
