I am a vivid dreamer also with good dream recall. I also wake up exhausted somethings because I feel like I have been actually living my dream.
Wow, what I wouldn't do to wake up and be able to say, It was all a dream, a very bad dream."

I don't know the answer but I can sympathize, as I have the same problem.
I sometimes can't tell the difference between memories and dreams.
I've jumped out of bed from a nightmare, and reached the top of the stairs in a panic before I realized I was dreaming.

Hey don't worry. Maybe you are eating something or drinking something that might be having this kind of effect on you. You should see a professional person that might know about this kind of things though. Dreams are very mysterious and sometimes I do feel in my dreams like if I get kick or pinch in my own dream, I actually do feel it!

You probably experience REM more than actual deep sleep, thus keeping you dreaming the most...you seem to be a light sleeper. That could have something to do with it. Plus, you wouldn't remember your dreams unless you woke up in the middle or during them.

I have that same feeling, some of my dreams are seriously scary. One of them scary enough that I actually stayed up the rest of the night and the next night with a flashlight and a crowbar.
