Is it true that the minemum wage in British columbia (thats in canada for all the americans that are trying to figure out where that is, and canadas the big country on top of you) is going up soon? how high and when?

The B.C. Federation of Labour (backed by the Centre for Policy Alternatives and most British Columbians) is pushing for $10 an hour. But the Fraser Institute (those protectors of the rich) want the gov't to keep it at $8. An aside: just one person in 16 earns minimum wage.

My guess is that if minimum wage goes up, it'll likely go just to $9. And it'll happen at the end of this spring's Legislature sitting. So this summer you might be getting $9 an hour.
