Pauline Fowler's will says that Martin can only inherit the house in full if he does not live there as Sonya's partner or husband. Is a condition like this in a will legally binding or just a contrived soap plot fiction?

addition: if you agreed to the condition and the will was finalized, what would stop you breaking it afterwards?

A will is a legal binding document and it can be contested but would cost a lot of money.
In the soap it is accurate and what she also put in her will is that Ian has to ensure it is carried out.Ian will be legally bound to ensure it is carried out or he could get into trouble.
martin suggested to sell property but Sonia refused on grounds their relationship is not going to work however both leaving soap soon so I expect he will sell it and perhaps Ian wil buy it.

anything that is in a will providing you are of sound mind is legally binding,i am sure that you have the right to challenge the will but some sort of genuine reason has to be placed before the courts.
