I've HEARD (sorry) shallow, superficial, too into money, Stepford Wives.
I've OBSERVED kind, loving, caring, generous, living healthy lifestyles.

It's funny because for some reason most people when they think of California they think of L.A. Like L.A. is the only city in California. L.A. has a gotten a bad rap for alot of reasons, but then from what little I know about it, there are also different parts of L.A. Also of the movies that is shown is usually something bad or negative. Maybe that is one reason for the stereotypical overall outlook of the State. I've never been to California but had a friend to move out there about 3 yrs ago and from what I hear from his family he's strung out on skid row. But just like with any city or state there's good as well as bad. California is no exception.

Okay - don't shoot the messenger!!
Stereotypes of California - a bunch of tree-hugging liberals who try to force their agenda on the rest of the country. Animal rights fanatics who don't know the first thing about wild animals, but thinks they should be protected no matter what - especially the cute animals. Against drilling for oil, yet rarely use public transportation. Pro-amnesty in spite of the fact that their economy has suffered from trying to support so many illegals.
I lived in Santa Barbara for awhile and never adjusted. I found the people very unfriendly and calculating - if they *were* nice to you, there was a reason for it.
Sorry - but you DID ask! I think California is a great place to visit, but way too expensive to live in.

Sure, why not. I've heard Californians called tree hugging environmentalists. Also, say their rude and money hungry people that only care about themselves. That's a few things I've heard. I don't pay any mind to what people say about my beautiful Calif. I was born and raised here. People should just keep their opinions to themselves especially those that don't know what their talking about. I've heard plenty of comments about other states that are stereotypical. I don't listen I judge places by my own experiences. Same with people.

Its warm and sunny all year round. Everyone is thin, beautiful and tan. Everyone can surf, people live in houses built on stilts. Famous people are everywhere. You think your more important than the rest of us because you have all those movie stars.
