I am a resident of NC and work in Massachusetts. Do I have to have a NC POA for my wife to take of matters in our home or can I do one in MA and send her a copy? I can't get home to NC in time to have a NC POA notarized.

~Why would you ask such a question on this site? Suppose you accept an answer here, do the POA, she uses it and it is invalid? Is she gonna be arrested for forgery? Is your deal gonna be void? Who ya gonna sue for malpractice? Spend the money, see a lawyer and get it done right. Duh.

You should be able to execute a valid POA in MA. However, you should have an attorney draft it for you - many banks and financial institutions are very particular when it comes to honoring POAs. They tend to like you to use their own form -- however, the powers in these forms are usually very limited.
