Finals are coming up....FAST

I have to hurry, or I'll fail and then I'll cry like a big baby

I need help with:
Ratios,
adding,and simplifying Liketerms

and yeah......
I hope you can help me out here :/
We are not allowed to use calculators on the tests (to like check our work) and that thing is like my security blanket! So pretty much, I'm screwed, unless, maybe I have like some sort of miracle. Which will not happen!

thank you for your help and/or advice.

Adding and simplifying like terms:
can you give an example? Do you mean adding like fractions such as 2/9 + 5/9?
If so, that would be (2 + 5)/9 = 7/9

for ratios it can be in fraction form: 2/4 it can be in another form: 2:4 and there is another form but im not remmebering it...... when adding if it is something like 2/4 and 1/8 then the like term is 8 because 8 goes into 8 once and 4 goes into 8 twice so it would become 4/8 and 1/8 then u add to make 5/8 u only add the top number or whatever number is not the same.

when you simplify something like 21/3 it would equal 7 because 21 divided by 3 is 7 or like 7/1 because of that....i hope this helps!

Try looking on mathgoodies.com They have messageboards where you can post questions about homework problems or ask for advice. A lot of retired math teachers and professors hang out on the boards to help students. The site also has some practice pages and links to sites to help with specific math skills.

it is simple for adding like terms i'll give you an example:

2x=76x-148 first subtract 2x from both sides
-2x+2x=-2x+76x-148
0=74x-148 then subtract 148 to both sides to isolate the x
148=74x divide 74 to both sides to isolate the x even more
2=x

did you undrestand it a little bit. i hope i helped out.
