When it comes to mind, What does the meaning of "its the very essence of the essay, dont you see" mean to you?

if you like candy, and you enjoy the taste of what makes the candy desireable to you then the essence is sugar, cause sugar is sweet and candy is supose to be sweet. If someone then says candy can be sour, then their essence is sour. If you named all the types of candy there are and then wrote a story about them, then the essence of the story might be sugar or sweetness. If you enjoy more than the sugar in a candy, then the essence become more difficult to explain. lol :)

I'm assuming that it means that it is the main point of the essay and that you should understand that. I would ask for some clarification.
