It depends on the particular model of the laptop, but all newer laptops will support USB mice.
As for PS/2 mice, you'll need a PS/2 port, and some newer laptops don't come with them, as they are being phased out.
I'd suggest purchasing a USB mouse.

you have think how may tipes 1 , 2 , 3 , i don`t know but you can plug in type 2 then type 3 BUT IF YOU DO SO YOU WILL MAKE A MES{ The PC is only made to run on 1 not 3465`45`9 got it }}}} if you run a wierles mouse the fine but to go back to cord the PC will take over and ajust to it

Not as far as I'm aware, if its a USB mouse, make sure your not trying to plug it into a firewire socket, they look similar.
If its PS2, make sure your laptop actually as a PS2 port and your not trying to force it into some type of midi port.

if your laptop has an usb port on the on it, simply plug the mouse into it and it should work fine. i use a dell mouse on my compaq laptob with no problem.

pff. no way. just connect ANY mouse to the USB plug. or just buy a wireless mouse. it's like 9 bucks at wal-mart!

get a usb mouse and plug it in a usb port if they are all used then get yourself a usb hub or expansion port
